Grief Counselling Calgary

Grief Counselling Will Help You Get Through Your Trauma

Grief is complex and deeply personal and a typical response to a traumatic event. Trauma is a distressing event in which a person feels severely threatened emotionally, physically, or psychologically. Trauma may include everything from the unexpected death of a spouse to a natural disaster or an episode of abuse. Such events can instill deep-seated fear, anger, or stress that build up over time. At Supporting Wellness, we have several registered psychologists at our Calgary location that specialize in helping individuals deal with and overcome trauma and grief. They tailor treatment to meet the specific needs of each person but commonly build upon four basic tasks. The steps in overcoming grief and trauma are, accepting the reality of the loss, working through the pain, adjusting to the new reality, and, in the case of a death, maintaining a connection with the deceased. Make an appointment for grief counselling in Calgary and discover a new horizon of hope and happiness.
