Hypnotherapy Cold Lake

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that works with the subconscious mind—the part of you that drives habits, emotional responses, beliefs, and automatic patterns. In a session, you’re guided into a focused, relaxed state (called hypnosis), where your mind becomes more open to suggestion, insight, and change. Contrary to common myths, you are not asleep or out of control. You are aware, present, and actively participating the entire time. This is where real change happens—and usually quite quickly for people!

Sessions Are Always Tailored To Your Specific Goals.

How Does It Work?

Your mind operates on two levels:

  • The conscious mind helps you think, analyze, and make decisions
  • The subconscious mind stores your habits, beliefs, emotions, and automatic responses

The subconscious mind runs about 95% of how you operate every day. So even when you want to change something, the deeper subconscious patterns can keep pulling you back into the same cycles.

A helpful way to think about this is like a computer:
Your conscious mind is the screen—you see & know what’s happening.
Your subconscious mind is the programming running in the background.
If the program hasn’t been updated, the same results keep showing up.

Hypnotherapy allows us to go to the root level—the programming itself—and create change or “reprogram” from there. Instead of just managing symptoms, we begin to shift the beliefs and emotional patterns that are driving them. You may have heard myths about hypnosis, but the truth is—you are always aware and in control. You cannot be made to do anything you do not want to do. Hypnotherapy simply works with your natural ability to focus, imagine, and experience things in your mind. In fact, you already go into similar states every day—like when you are deeply focused on a movie, driving on autopilot, or lost in thought. Hypnotherapy uses that natural state in a purposeful way to help you move forward.

What Can Hypnotherapy Help With?

Hypnotherapy can support change in almost any area of life. Some of the most common things Whitney works with, include:

  • Anxiety, stress, and feeling overwhelmed
  • Confidence and self-worth
  • Money patterns and behaviors
  • Emotional blocks or proccessing
  • Creating healthier habits OR quitting unwanted habits (smoking, overeating, etc.)
  • Childhood Issues
  • Fears & Phobias
  • Physical Pain
  • Trauma & Creating Inner Safety
  • Children 5+ & Teen behaviours
  • Performance Issues (Public speaking, exam prep, professional blocks)
  • Relationship Issues
  • Overall Self Actualization (Where Whitney specializes!)

Every client is different, and sessions are always tailored to your specific goals.

A Safe and Professional Approach

Whitney is a trauma-informed clinical hypnotherapist with a diverse background in health and wellness, finance, and energy-based practices. She has a grounded, real-world understanding of how patterns show up in your day-to-day life—especially when it comes to identity, behavior, and nervous system responses.

Whitney understands that the patterns people want to change don’t just live in one area of life—they show up in how we think, feel, make decisions, and relate to ourselves and others. She will meet you where you are, with care, no judgement, and guide you with both structure and safety.

One area she especially loves working with is self-actualization.

In real-world terms, this means helping you become more fully you—not who you’ve been conditioned to be, not who you think you “should” be, but who you naturally are when you are thinking clearly, feeling grounded, and making choices that truly reflect you.

This can look like:

  • Feeling more confident in your decisions
  • Trusting yourself instead of second-guessing
  • Letting go of patterns that keep you playing small
  • Showing up more fully in your work, relationships, and life
  • Creating a life that feels aligned, not forced

This work isn’t “fixing you”. It’s about helping you access and express who you already are—more clearly, more consistently, and with ease to be able to live a life that actually FEELS good.
