There are many false impressions and biases surrounding the topic of individual therapy. Making an appointment with a psychologist does not mean you are weak, nor does it mean you are fundamentally broken. Therapy is simply an empowering opportunity for you to talk with someone who has an unbiased clinical perspective and the professional tools to help you overcome a wide range of challenges.
When you talk to friends and family members about the struggles you are currently facing, they may provide a wonderful listening ear. However, they will ultimately leave you in relatively the same situation. A registered psychologist is uniquely equipped to offer solutions that will give you focused direction, allow you to see things through a different lens, and eventually help you feel empowered in your daily life.
People seek individual counselling for a wide variety of reasons. Our Cold Lake therapists are here to support you if you are experiencing:
Anxiety and Stress: Feeling constantly overwhelmed, worried, or on edge.
Depression: Navigating feelings of profound sadness, lethargy, or a lack of motivation.
Relationship Difficulties: Struggling with boundaries, communication, or a recent breakup.
Life Transitions: Adjusting to a new career, a move, or changes in your family dynamic.
Self-Esteem Issues: Battling a harsh inner critic or a persistent lack of confidence.

The number of sessions we recommend is unique to each person. During your initial consultation, we can suggest a starting plan, and we will work collaboratively with you throughout the process, adjusting as needed to support your goals and achieve the best possible outcomes.
The cost of a 50-minute therapy session is typically $235, though fees may vary depending on the type of therapy and the therapist providing the service. Some of our therapists offer sliding scale options, so we encourage you to call us to discuss your needs and we will help connect you with someone who best fits your goals and budget.
