Perinatal Health Calgary

Navigating the Emotional Journey of Growing Your Family

Growing your family can be a profoundly transformative experience. Whether you're navigating fertility treatments, adjusting to life with a new baby, or trying to stay afloat in the demands of caregiving, it's common to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected. These transitions can stir up grief, identity shifts, relationship tension, and deep emotional fatigue. You don’t have to go through it alone.

Mental Health Support from Fertility to Postpartum—and Beyond

Perinatal mental health care isn’t only for those who are currently pregnant or newly postpartum. Many clients seek support while trying to conceive, navigating fertility treatments, recovering from loss, or even years after giving birth. Sometimes the focus of therapy isn’t on parenting or pregnancy at all—it’s on processing past experiences, healing from trauma, managing anxiety, or finding space to reconnect with yourself. Wherever you are in your journey, your experience is valid and deserving of care.

Perinatal Mental Health Care in Calgary

Common Reasons Clients Seek Support

  • Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs): Including postpartum depression, anxiety, rage, and OCD. Sessions focus on understanding your symptoms, building emotional regulation tools, and reconnecting with your values and sense of self.
  • Fertility-related grief and stress: Whether you’re undergoing fertility treatments, coping with loss, or facing uncertainty about your path to parenthood, Hannah offers a space to process the emotional toll and find steadiness through the unknown.
  • Birth trauma and loss: Trauma-informed support can help you make sense of your experience, gently process difficult memories, and find meaning and healing on your own terms.
  • Postpartum identity and relational changes: Parenthood can bring big shifts in how you see yourself and your relationships. Together, you’ll explore what’s feeling hard or heavy, and what it might look like to feel more grounded.
  • Burnout: Whether it’s emotional, mental, or physical exhaustion from caregiving, parenting, or simply holding it all together, burnout can leave you feeling depleted and disconnected. Therapy can help you recognize the signs, understand the underlying patterns, and begin to build a life that includes rest, boundary-setting, and support.

A Collaborative, Holistic Approach to Healing

Hannah uses a person-centred, trauma-informed approach that integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based CBT, and narrative therapy. Sessions are collaborative, attuned, and paced to meet you where you’re at.

You Don’t Have to Carry It All Alone
