Psycho-Educational Assessments For You Or Your Child
As parents, you want to see your children succeed; having a child who is struggling at school or in other areas can be disheartening and stressful. At Supporting Wellness, we offer psychoeducational assessments that can help you understand why your child is falling behind and what you can do moving forward. The purpose of a psychoeducational evaluation is to help provide an objective understanding of your child’s needs and strengths and weaknesses, as well as what type of intervention or approach is necessary. We administer multiple tests during an assessment which are designed to screen for issues including learning disabilities, developmental delays, processing disorders, and more. Every evaluation begins with an interview with you and your child and finishes with a report outlining our findings. We submit this report to your child’s school board, advocating for certain accommodations to be made to optimize your child’s learning environment. Child & Adolescent Speech & Language Assessments
A child and adolescent speech assessment can help to identify the reasons behind a child’s inability to form proper words or to communicate effectively. At Supporting Wellness, we have a speech-language pathologist who will listen to how a child is saying their sounds, check their oral structures, and try to determine an explanation. Language assessments, on the other hand, can help to identify why a person is having difficulty using and understanding language. Depending on the concerns, a speech-language pathologist can complete assessments to generate a communication profile, identifying their areas of strength and weakness. Give us a call for an over-the-phone consultation. Our speech therapy requires no referral. We look forward to getting to know you and helping you access the care you need.
Step 2: Pair With a Specialist
Once we’ve spoken on the phone, we’ll be able to assess your concerns and pair you with a psychologist in our office who is best suited for your situation. We want you to receive relevant and relatable support.
Step 3: Come in to Talk
We look forward to having you come in for your first session; our goal is to make you feel welcome and comfortable. You will sit down with a registered psychologist who has specialized knowledge of your area of concern.
