At Supporting Wellness, we recognize the deep and complex challenges faced by First Nations communities. Indigenous individuals often navigate a wide array of systemic issues. These include racism, discrimination, loss of culture, neglect, abuse, addiction, fetal alcohol syndrome, and deep-rooted trauma.
Understanding the profound impact of displacement from traditional lands and ways of life forms a vital foundation of our counselling programs in Cold Lake. Our dedicated counsellors place Indigenous relations and cultural sensitivity at the very forefront of their practice, ensuring you have a safe, welcoming space to heal and grow.
Every therapist on our Cold Lake team engages in ongoing sensitivity training to achieve a deep, respectful understanding of each First Nations client's unique experiences. We know that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process.
We remain deeply aware of the devastating cultural and personal impacts that residential schools have had on Indigenous groups across Canada. Our Cold Lake trauma and PTSD counsellors offer practical tools and highly compassionate care to help you work through the most challenging parts of this history. We are here to listen, validate your experiences, and walk alongside you on your healing journey.
