Jaqueline Amorim Registered Provisional Psychologist
Individual / Family / Couple / Depression / Anxiety / Child Counsellor
Hello, my name is Jaqueline.
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (First Class Honours), and a Master of Counselling Psychology degree, both through the University of Calgary.
For the past 15 years, I have worked in mental health with children, youth, individuals and families, in various capacities. My path has taken me through schools, hospitals, residential programs and other community settings. I provide individual and couples’ therapy to adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, emotional dysregulation, trauma, and grief.
As a Psychologist, I come from a biopsychosocial approach, and adopt a collaborative, evidence-based and strength-based strategies to support my clients.
What does that mean?
That means individuals are unique in their challenges and strengths, but they are also part of many systems, such as a couple, a family, a school, a community, and so on. Together you and I will work on identifying what they are, how they are impacting you, and finding strategies that would improve your life and functioning.
Originally from Brazil, I am fluent in English and Portuguese, and my Spanish is not bad either. I am available to meet clients on weekdays, days and evenings, for online and in-person appointments. My practice includes both Calgary and Cold Lake locations.
I look forward to meeting you. Let’s do this!
