What Types Of Eating Disorders Are There?
A variety of eating disorders exist, including:
Anorexia nervosa: This condition is characterized by an intense fear of gaining weight, prompting extreme limitation of food intake and extremely low body weight.
Bulimia nervosa is identified as a disorder that involves frequent episodes of indulgent eating followed by attempts to reverse the effects, such as inducing vomiting, utilizing laxatives or diuretics, or partaking in extreme exercises. All of this is done in an attempt to avoid gaining weight.
Binge Eating is a disorder distinguished by recurring episodes of binge eating, during this time a person consumes too much food in a short amount of time. This often leads to the person becoming uncomfortably full, and often brings a feeling of guilt or shame.

Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID): is defined as a marked decrease in food intake or an inability to meet nutritional and energy needs, often stemming from a distaste for certain types of food. This disorder can also be the reason why children fail to gain or lose weight.
