Book For Cold Lake
I am a fellow human being on a journey of learning, growing and healing. I have been supporting beautiful, messy and imperfect people through the ups and downs of life for over a decade. My goal is to provide you with an experience of feeling seen, heard and connected to a mental health professional who can provide a safe non-judgmental space. I feel that we are all whole (even if we feel broken) and it is through this safe therapeutic relationship we can open universes of possibilities like making sense of your experiences together, connecting with yourself and others with self-compassion, and learning research-based techniques. I believe that one of the greatest gifts I can give another human is my attention in an environment of openness, curiosity, and empathy. So, I aim to listen carefully, kindly, and genuinely—with an open heart and an open mind.Hello! I’m Dr Monica Bahri, a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I bring over 15 years of experience in clinical practice, academic instruction, and community outreach, supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and am currently completing my supervised practice with the College of Alberta Psychologists.I recently moved from Edmonton to Bonnyville, Alberta, to serve the community and continue providing accessible, compassionate mental health care.My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based care. Clients benefit from practical coping skills, greater self-awareness, and support for achieving their personal goals. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), music therapy, and client-centered counselling. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, and life transitions, using a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens shaped by diverse experiences in Canada and India.I work with adolescents (12+), adults, couples, and families. In our sessions, you will experience a supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we will strengthen your resilience, develop coping skills tailored to your needs, and help you confidently navigate challenges, so you can experience greater well-being and fulfillment in your life.I have spent over a decade teaching psychology at the college level and leading community mental health initiatives focused on wellness, education, and empowerment.“Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous step.” —Mariska Hargitay.
