John Wang is a Registered Psychologist who has completed his graduate study specializing in School and Child Psychology at the University of Calgary. Previously, he has provided psychoeducational assessment services as well as counselling therapy for children and adolescents in both public and private school settings. Before that, John led mental health initiatives for adults and minors alike in not-for-profits.
Aside from his clinical work, John is also the Co-Investigator of two Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) funded research that examines the mental health of people living with HIV/AIDS during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor with the Mental Health Commission of Canada, John is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience in mental health and helping reduce the stigmatization of mental health disorders amongst the marginalized population.
When he’s not advocating for mental health, you can find John hiking and biking the many trails that the Alberta Rockies has to offer, or finding fulfillment in advocating for the electrification of the transportation system through his Youtube channel "Ready, Steady, Charge".
