Maria Wazny is a Canadian Certified Counsellor
Hi! I'm Masha. I support clients navigating cultural and life transitions, grief and loss, and sports performance concerns, particularly those who feel overwhelmed by change, identity shifts, or ongoing stress. Whether you are navigating immigration or third-culture identity, adjusting to a new chapter of life, coping with the loss of someone or something meaningful, or managing the mental pressures that come with athletic performance, my goal is to walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and respect for your unique story.
My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and is informed by attachment-based work, somatic interventions, parts work, Gestalt therapy, and person-centred values. I aim to create a calm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where all parts of your experience are welcome—especially the ones that feel confusing, heavy, or hard to put into words.
Having lived across countries, cultures, and within high-performance sport, I bring both professional training and lived experience into the room. I offer therapy in both English and Russian and hold a deep appreciation for how language, culture, and context shape our sense of self and connection to others.
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll often find me skiing, reading, gaming, or immersed in a creative project. I value movement, curiosity, and making space for the full range of human experience—both in life and in therapy.
